How does Kaleidoscope's readability progression work?

The sets are organised into Cliff Moon's Indivdualised Reading stages to help teachers match the very best books to each child's reading ability, and encourage gradual reading progression throughout the primary school years.

Indivdualised Reading grades books into 13 levels of difficulty, ranging from 'Stage 0' wordless books to 'Stages 1 – 6' for early readers, and from 'Stages 7 – 10' for developing readers to 'Stages 11, 12 & beyond 12' for fluent readers.
